Narrator screen — for Mafia and Spy at a real table

For a game played in person rather than online: open this on the narrator’s phone or tablet. It announces night and day out loud, gives each player their minute in turn, and counts the votes. It does not deal roles — you already have cards for that.

Set up the table

The room tone follows the phase: duller at night, brighter by day, tighter at the vote. Nothing is downloaded — the sound is generated in the browser.

Names are optional — leave them blank and it uses numbers.

What it does

  • Announces the phases out loud, so the narrator is not saying the same sentence all evening.
  • Runs the speech timer and passes the floor to the next living player by itself.
  • Counts votes by tapping, and shows who is ahead.
  • Remembers who is already out — the narrator’s most common mistake by the tenth round.
  • Works offline once loaded: no room, no account, nothing to install.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Completely. No sign-up and no limits.

Does it deal the roles?

No, deliberately. You have cards at the table, and an app that insists on dealing through itself breaks the thing that already works.

Does it work for Spy?

Yes — a speech timer around the circle and a vote are exactly what that needs. Just never use the night phase.

The screen keeps going dark.

While a timer is running the page asks the browser to keep the screen awake. If the system dims it anyway, turn off auto-lock for the evening.

What if we want to play online instead?

Then go to the game itself: a room fills from one link in a minute, and it does all of this on its own.
